MERLIN STUDIO
HOW MERLIN WORKS

A partner for building a business, not a supplier waiting for a brief.

Merlin combines product judgement, design and rapid execution with partners who understand a market and can reach the people who pay. Structure and ownership are agreed case by case: a flexible partnership, not a fixed legal promise.

WHAT YOU BRING

Your side is ongoing: know where the opportunity is, and have, or be able to create, a route to the people who pay. Any of these counts:

HOW THE PARTNERSHIP DIVIDES

Two sides, one business.

1 / 2

Both sides build the business. A venture relationship, not a hand-off after delivery.

No two partnerships are identical. Structure and ownership are agreed case by case.

AFTER THE CONVERSATION

Involvement does not end at the MVP.

Merlin keeps building the product side. You keep building the market side. Each informs the other.

SELECTED COMMISSIONS

Not everything worth building becomes a venture.

Some work is commissioned normally. No equity, no venture relationship, no share of a business. Merlin still chooses it the same way: by the problem, and by whether it can add something beyond execution. Commissioned work has its own enquiry route.

FROM OPPORTUNITY TO CONVERSATION

Booking is the outcome, not the start.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What does "bring the market" mean?

Understanding where the commercial opportunity is, and having, or being able to create, a credible route to the people expected to pay. Customers, an audience, credibility, relationships, distribution or existing demand all count.

Do I need a pitch deck, a startup background or a large following?

No. You need enough substance for Merlin to investigate whether a business can exist.

What does Merlin bring?

Product judgement, strategy, UX and design, engineering and AI in one place, and speed from opportunity to working product. Merlin stays responsible for the product side as the venture grows.

How is a partnership structured?

Case by case. No two partnerships are identical: structure and ownership are agreed per venture.

What happens after the first product ships?

Involvement does not end at the MVP. Merlin keeps building the product side, the partner keeps building the market side, and each informs the other.

Does Merlin take on conventional paid work?

Yes, selectively. Not every worthwhile product needs a venture structure. Merlin takes on a small number of commissioned products, websites and digital experiences where the work is interesting enough and Merlin can add real product or technical value. Commissioned work has its own route, separate from the venture evaluator.

How do I start?

Describe the opportunity to the evaluator in ordinary language. Already have demand, customers or strong evidence? Start there. The evaluator will not make you repeat what is already established, and booking stays the outcome of that conversation.

START HERE

Start with the opportunity, not a pitch.

Describe it in ordinary language. The evaluator works through it with you.

Start a venture

Something worth building does not always need to become a venture.

Merlin takes on a small number of commissioned products, websites and digital experiences where the problem, product or ambition makes the work worth getting involved in.
